One of the things i most like about the start of new seasons, is the launching of all the advertising campaigns, and this time, one of the ones i most liked was certainly Balenciaga' s SS 2012, featuring Laura Kapman and shooted by the polemic and brilliant photographer Steven Meisel. The key when shooting a campaign (at least under my ignorant perspective), is not showing every single detail of the garment itself, but expressing the collection's inspiration, it's character, the chromatisms, and in definitive, it's soul.

I've always felt that Nicolás Ghesquiere's design had a deep arquitetonic reference, and in this case, Meisel has done an amazing work integrating this style in the messy background, and highlighting each relevant line and colour.

Yes, i totally include Guesquiere's in my favourite designer's list.
